California Interior Design: Hybrid Styles + Global Influences: Story

wellness by design

The pandemic served as a turning point in the architecture industry’s understanding of health and wellbeing. Ideas and experimentation in the following two years have allowed architects to better implement the science of wellbeing through design strategies. Becoming increasingly aware of the impact built environments have on us, there is a growing interest in understanding the universal effects of building design on bodily health. Looking for supplements with fewer fillers and more authentic, science-backed ingredients? The wellness brand’s ingestible supplements contain clinically proven ingredients that cater to gut health, immune support, and more body functions.

Of the numerous developers and architecture and design firms AD PRO approached, few would share numbers of their specific budgets for wellness projects or for their wellness spending allocations overall. It’s long been available, but entertainment and security have often eclipsed wellness-oriented smart home technologies. A deadly virus changed its ranking in importance, and will continue to do so in 2021, especially in the areas of air quality management and reduced germ spread via handsfree technologies. Shelly Lynch-Sparks, the designer behind New York City meditation space MNDFL and acupuncture studio WTHN, says a sustainability focus dictates all of her work. “This includes everything from the paint on the walls or glue used for millwork to ensure there is no off-gassing,” she says, adding that wood veneers, Caesarstone quartz, and zero-VOC paints like Clare all help achieve this. With health and wellbeing top of mind for the world, wellness-oriented spaces in both commercial and residential settings are prioritizing much more than just relaxation and pampering.

She recommends positioning your work surface near a window to get its benefits. A floor lamp washing across the ceiling can also provide ambient lighting, especially during evening hours or when the sun might cause too much glare. “There are so many incredible organizations supporting wellness design,” Lynch-Sparks says.

Sustainable architecture aims to create buildings that are healthier not only for its surrounding environment, but its inhabitants. Biophilic design was established from the understanding that the mind and the body develop within a “sensorially rich world”. It utilizes nature’s cure to alleviate stress, improve air quality, and support cognitive function. Fundamentally, the principle emphasizes the connection between indoor environments and occupants with nature. With all the ongoing design trends that have consolidated as a result, the demand has focused on organic materials that emulate outdoor environments. It’s not surprising with so many more hours spent indoors – including on video cameras –that lighting would take on new importance with the pandemic.

They are quick to build and require fewer resources, keeping your budget balanced. Remember, modern design is about functionality and simplicity which aligns perfectly with a low budget approach. And most importantly, don’t shy away from showcasing your personal style within these guidelines. Remember, cost-savings doesn’t always mean compromising style. Opt for minimalist decor, raw industrial furniture, and glossy finishes to achieve a modern look. Consider investing in energy-efficient appliances and lighting, which, though may be a little more costly upfront, will save you money in the long run.

They’re a place where students get to go for four years to think in big ways about moral questions, and political questions, and ideas that help shape the world they’re going to spend the rest of their lives in. The encampment is set up in the middle of the night slash morning, prior to the hearing. And so what effectively happens is they caught Shafik when she wasn’t on campus, when a lot of senior administration had their resources dedicated to supporting Shafik in DC. Eliminate the encampment and send a message, this is not going to be tolerated.

Story House Plans & Floor Plans

We have seen intense feelings about this conflict play out in Hollywood. We’ve seen them in our politics in all kinds of interesting ways. And for those students who maybe couldn’t go back to — into campus, now all of their peers, who were supporters or are in solidarity, are — in some sense, it’s further emboldened.

Plan links

In essence, the square footage of homes built on limited sites could be nearly doubled with 2-story house plans as compared to a ranch home built on the same lot. Some Colonial house plans, Cape Cod floor plans, and Victorian home designs are 2-story house plans. There's something about two-story house plans that feels right. Maybe it's the feeling of grandeur they evoke or how they make the most of vertical space. Whatever the reason, 2-story house plans are perhaps the first choice as a primary home for many homeowners nationwide.

About Two-Story House Plans & 2-Story Home Floor Plans...

The options are endless with this flexible design. Many projects have built these narrow single family types side by side with different colored exteriors. Some have found the solution is to build with common walls as in the related plans at the bottom of this page.

Columbia University is at the center of a growing showdown over the war in Gaza and the limits of free speech.

And I saw a huge crowd of students and affiliates on campus watching the lawns. And as I circled around that crowd, I saw the last end of the New York Police Department pulling away protesters and clearing out the last of the encampment. Yes, it certainly came as a surprise, especially at “Spectator.” We’re nerds of the University in the sense that we are familiar with faculty and University governance. But even to us, we had no idea where this policy was coming from. And this suspension was really the first time that it entered most students’ sphere.

By understanding these points, the true power of the open floor concept in budget-friendly two storey house designs can be appreciated and implemented effectively. Designing a garage as a part of the house can significantly reduce construction costs by decreasing the total roof and wall area, thus requiring lesser materials. It also allows for a streamlined design, giving the house a more compact feel, without losing out on functionality or comfort. A small rooftop garden or some hanging plants can bring a touch of nature into your urban abode without taking up precious square footage. They also act as natural air purifiers, making your living space healthier and more enjoyable.

simple 2 story house design

With the right planning, incorporating sustainability into your design doesn’t need to break the bank. You can make your dream two storey home eco-friendly, cozy, beautiful and budget-friendly all at once. Remember, simplicity is at the heart of contemporary design. By focusing on practicality and relying on fewer but efficient pieces, you can achieve an elegant house design within a restricted budget. Remember, the right balance between cost-cutting and comfort is key in achieving the perfect budget-friendly two-storey mountain home.

But back on campus, some of the students and faculty who had been watching the hearing came away with a very different set of conclusions. The home of your dreams starts with the right design. Explore our diverse array of house plans and if the idea of personalizing a design resonates with you, feel free to reach out. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to collaborate with you, crafting a home that seamlessly aligns with your vision and fulfills your unique needs. Another concept to explore is wrap-around balconies.

This design gives you true flexibility plus a comfortable suite for guests or in-laws while they visit. Two-Story home plans are designs with the living spaces and bedrooms on 2 levels. The owner’s suite or main bedroom may be on the upper level or on the main level. Traditional two-story designs have the main suite on the upper level. Those designs with the main or owner’s suite on the main level are sometimes referred to as 1 ½ Story home plans. Traditionally, 2-story floor plans detail the main floor with common gathering areas such as the great room, the kitchen, formal dining room or breakfast nook, and formal living room.

Commencing your eco-friendly design journey, take note of materials that align with sustainable living. Opt for recycled or reclaimed wood for structural components or accent pieces, helping reduce waste and offering a unique touch. With an open main level, you have plenty of space to have people over.

There’s a video that goes viral of one of them shouting at Jewish students, go back to Poland, go back to Europe. What it seemed to evoke was the message that Hamas should murder those Jewish students. That’s the way the Jewish students interpreted it. Nick, Isabella Ramírez just walked us through what this has all looked like from the perspective of a Columbia student. And from what she could tell, the crackdown ordered by President Shafik did not quell much of anything.

Since October 7, there has certainly been constant escalation in terms of tension on campus. And that became a huge moment in what was characterized as suppression of pro-Palestinian activism on campus, effectively rendering those groups, quote, unquote, unauthorized. So these students in real-time are beginning to test some of the things that Columbia’s president has just said before Congress. And that’s of a Middle Eastern studies professor named Joseph Massad. He wrote an essay not long after Hamas invaded Israel and killed 1,200 people, according to the Israeli government, where he described that attack with adjectives like awesome.

Crafting Rails in Minecraft: Your Ultimate Guide to Minecart Tracks and Transportation

minecraft railway design

Carts with a rider, or minecarts with chests, have more momentum and so climb higher than carts that are unloaded. With a rider, a minecart can climb at least 24 blocks before needing powered rails to go higher. Also, to ascend from 0 to max speed, the player needs 7 powered rails. This first design uses a button, a few powered rails, a bit of redstone wire, and a redstone torch. The button powers the powered rail which launches the cart away from the solid block behind it.

Make Your Minecart Stations Better Than Ever in Minecraft 1.3

When powered by redstone, will give a minecart a push in the direction it is moving. Also known in the game as "Storage Minecarts", these are made by combining a normal minecart with a chest. These can be used in combination with powered minecarts for sending goods from your mine to your storeroom. Rails are a unique type of solid block in Minecraft that are used as a path along which Minecarts can ride.

Verticalize Your Minecraft Creations by Transmitting Redstone Power Up and Down

With a rider, a cart can climb at least 24 blocks before needed powered rails to go higher. Detector rails are used to momentarily power redstone as the minecart passes over — place them like any other rail. They can be used to open doors, power pistons, or with any other complex redstone contraptions you create. In the image above, the cart is about to power the piston connected to the detector rail with redstone dust. If you'd like to create an automated railway system — essential for mining operations when you can't be there to drive a minecart — you have to use powered rails.

Use Analog Redstone Signals to Control Your Machines with the Goldilocks Gate

Instead of using up many pickaxes while making stations, a simple single-cart network can be used. Put a redstone comparator next to the hopper above the dropper. Then, put two redstone next to it and a redstone repeater after that. Wire this up to the dropper and another wire to a dropper, which has all your tickets in. At a ticket booth, have a person behind a glass screen with a 1×1 hole, with the stated price and destination above the hole.

Minecraft World's Weekly Workshop: Experimenting with Minecarts

Sprinting could be a better choice, but that drains hunger bars. Therefore, making a railway system is the obvious choice. Generally, rail systems are simple to make, and they can be very effective ways to travel quickly through long distances. A placed rail configures itself to be straight or curved according to rail blocks around it.

Powering

For a ticket turnstile, have a series of iron doors separated by walls with holes in the bottom. Below each pit, have a wooden pressure plate connected to the door (preferably under) with a person standing next to it to collect the ticket. Another idea is to have a separate room with redstone connecting the iron door in the waiting room.

A tip for powering sloped rails is to place a redstone torch beneath the block supporting the rail, as is shown in the picture above. Depending on orientation, the signal may need to be inverted with a redstone torch. The torch adds a minor delay, but this shouldn't affect the results. This design assumes the minecart is moving at top speed.

Before the non-platform set of powered rails, have a room set into the side so another attendant can push the carts in an emergency. Now, place a stick in the center box of the middle column, right above the redstone dust. Make sure the gold ingots, redstone dust, and stick are placed in the exact pattern described to craft powered rails successfully. One-way powered rail lines can be created by placing a detector rail before a powered rail. This way, occupied carts are boosted only if they are traveling the proper direction. Carts going the "wrong" way come to a stop because the powered rail is inactive.

3 Minecart Station Designs to Get Your Minecraft Railway Rolling

Detector Rails are Rails that are used to detect things, just as the name suggests. They are used to detect passing Minecarts or how full or empty a Minecart passing over them is. Powered Rails are Rails that are able to push the Minecart along them given that they have a Redstone Current powering them. Getting my start with technology journalism back in 2016, I have been working in the industry for over 7 years.

An occupied minecart will be accelerated to maximum speed by three powered rails in a row. On flat ground, the cart will be kept up to speed by placing a powered rail every 38 blocks along the route. If you don't mind going slower and want to save on materials, powered rails can be placed further apart.

A diagram on how minecarts travel according to track curves. Mineshafts are underground structures rich in resources, including pre-laid rails. You'll often find rails covering the floor of mineshafts, forming intricate track systems.

The lever is an optional extra; you can use it switch the powered rails on permanently if you no longer want to stop at this station. An empty minecart, weirdly enough, will only travel 8 blocks at top speed after passing the same number of powered rails. This means players will need to place more to keep their speed.

Many people have made fully functioning automatic XP farms using Redstone and Rails, which greatly speeds up leveling. It cannot dispense the Items directly into a Chest, but if this type of Minecart passes over another Hopper the Items will be moved. TNT Minecarts can be used to safely detonate TNT inside a cave. It is much easier than launching TNT by hand and having to run away before the blast. Minecarts with Chests are used to transport Loot and anything you find inside the caves. Putting your things in the Chest and sending the Minecart on its way leaves your hands free to collect more.

You can include luggage cars in front or at the back, but to build the platform, you need a large open area. Also, determine whether your platform is a side platform or an island platform. A side platform serves only one track while an island platform serves two tracks. As you progress through Minecraft, you'll start realizing that walking is not a very effective way to travel long distances.

Downward sloped powered rails add both the momentum from the rails and the momentum from going downhill to your cart. A single powered rail on the flat ground against a stop block gives an occupied cart enough momentum to travel 80 rail tiles on a flat surface, or 8 tiles for an unoccupied cart. You should include extra powered rails beyond the platform for luggage cars. Before the platform, have another set of powered rails(not connected to platform track). Make a station box across from the platform with levers controlling both sets of powered rails, and place a station attendant here.

An employee might reasonably ignore a small number of minor incidents, hoping that the harassment will stop without resorting to the complaint process.[293] The employee also may choose to tell the harasser directly to stop the harassment and then wait to see if the harasser stops before complaining to management. If the harassment persists or worsens, however, then further delay in complaining might be unreasonable. Conduct also occurs within the work environment if it is conveyed using work-related communications systems, accounts, devices, or platforms, such as an employer’s email system, electronic bulletin board, instant message system, videoconferencing technology, intranet, public website, official social media accounts, or other equivalent services or technologies.[221] As with a physical work environment, conduct within a virtual work environment can contribute to a hostile work environment. This can include, for instance, sexist comments made during a video meeting, ageist or ableist comments typed in a group chat, racist imagery that is visible in an employee’s workspace while the employee participates in a video meeting, or sexual comments made during a video meeting about a bed being near an employee in the video image. 333 Chapman v. Oakland Living Ctr., 48 F.4th 222, 232 (4th Cir. 2022) (concluding that a reasonable jury could find that the employer had constructive notice of harassment where the employer failed to produce evidence that it had a harassment reporting policy when the harassment occurred and, although the employer had an employee handbook, the only copy was kept in a desk where the plaintiff may never have seen it).

A. Harassment Affecting Multiple Complainants

277 See Cerros v. Steel Techs., Inc., 398 F.3d 944, 954 (7th Cir. 2005) (describing a prompt investigation as a “hallmark of reasonable corrective action”). 261 See Ellerth, 524 U.S. at 754 (analyzing harassment claim as a hostile work environment claim because it involved only unfulfilled threats); Henthorn v. Capitol Commc’ns, Inc., 359 F.3d 1021, 1027 (8th Cir. 2004) (analyzing an unfulfilled implied threat as a factor in determining whether the plaintiff was subjected to a hostile work environment). 226 See Abbt v. City of Hous., 28 F.4th 601, 609 (5th Cir. 2022) (concluding that a reasonable jury could find that the plaintiff, a firefighter, was subjected to a sex-based hostile work environment arising from her colleagues’ repeated viewing of a private, nude, intimate video that she had made for her husband). 221 See Blakey v. Cont’l Airlines, Inc., 751 A.2d 538, 543 (N.J. 2000) (concluding that, although the electronic bulletin board did not have a physical location at the employee’s worksite, evidence might show it was so closely related to the workplace environment and beneficial to the employer that continuation of harassment on it should be regarded as occurring in the workplace).

A. Overview of Liability Standards in Harassment Cases

71 See, e.g., Barrett, 556 F.3d at 513 (concluding that the district court erred in rejecting two White employees’ claim of associational discrimination on the grounds that they failed to show the “requisite degree of association” with Black coworkers and explaining that the degree of association is irrelevant in assessing whether a plaintiff has a valid claim of associational discrimination (citing Drake v. 3M, 134 F.3d 878, 884 (7th Cir. 1998)); cf. Kengerski v. Harper, 6 F.4th 531, , 539 (3d Cir. 2021) (noting that associational discrimination is not limited to close or substantial relationships and ruling that the complainant could pursue his retaliation claim for making a complaint regarding harassment based on his association with his biracial grand-niece). Once an employer has notice of potentially harassing conduct, it is responsible for taking reasonable corrective action to prevent the conduct from continuing. This includes conducting a prompt and adequate investigation and taking appropriate action based on the findings of that investigation. In the context of employer liability for a hostile work environment, an employee is considered a “supervisor” if the individual is “empowered by the employer to take tangible employment actions against the victim.”[238] An employee may, of course, have more than one supervisor.

C. Applying the Appropriate Standard of Liability in a Hostile Work Environment Case

The determination of whether hostile-work-environment harassment is based on a protected characteristic will depend on the totality of the circumstances.87 Although causation must be evaluated based on the specific facts in a case, the principles discussed below will generally apply in determining causation. Not all principles will necessarily apply in every case. 359 See Carter v. Chrysler Corp., 173 F.3d 693, 702 (8th Cir. 1999) (enumerating factors to be assessed in evaluating the reasonableness of remedial measures and listing potential corrective actions).

B. Establishing Causation

203 See, e.g., Christian v. Umpqua Bank, 984 F.3d 801, , 811 (9th Cir. 2020) (concluding that the evidence created a triable issue as to whether a customer’s harassment of the complainant was sufficiently severe or pervasive where the customer persisted in asking the complainant on dates, sending her notes and letters, and repeatedly “pester[ing] her” for months after the complainant asked him to stop). Hosp. of Racine, Inc., 666 F.3d 422, 429, 433 (7th Cir. 2012) (stating that the ten-year age disparity between the teenage complainant and the older harasser, coupled with his authority over her, could have led a rational jury to conclude that the harassment resulted in a hostile work environment). 119 With respect to harassment claims, the Supreme Court has referred to two types of changes to the terms, conditions, or privileges of employment as “explicit” and “constructive” changes. See Burlington Indus., Inc. v. Ellerth, 524 U.S. 742, 752 (1998).

C. The Scope of Hostile Work Environment Claims

Eitan’s allegation is that he faced a hostile work environment based on national origin and religion; Sophie’s allegation is that Eitan faced a hostile work environment based on his national origin and religion and she was forced to participate in it. Based on evidence that the harassment occurred on a regular basis and included serious and offensive conduct, including harassment designed to interfere with Eitan’s work performance and ostracize him, the investigator concludes that Eitan was subjected to a hostile work environment based on his race and religion. Harassment based on the perception that an individual has a particular protected characteristic—for example, the belief that a person has a particular national origin, religion, or sexual orientation—is covered by federal EEO law even if the perception is incorrect.[66] Thus, harassment of a Hispanic person because the harasser believes the individual is Pakistani is national origin-based harassment, and harassment of a Sikh man wearing a turban because the harasser thinks he is Muslim is religious harassment, even if the perception in both instances is incorrect. 369 Some courts have suggested that it may be lawful to honor such a request in some circumstances, but that it may be necessary to take corrective action, despite a complainant’s wishes, if harassment is severe. 270 See, e.g., Agusty-Reyes v. Dep’t of Educ., 601 F.3d 45, 55 (1st Cir. 2010) (holding that a reasonable jury could conclude that the failure to disseminate the harassment policy and complaint procedure precluded the employer from establishing the first prong of the defense); Ortiz v. Sch.

III. Harassment Resulting in Discrimination with Respect to a Term, Condition, or Privilege of Employment

Under the first part of a harassment claim, harassment (or harassing conduct) is only covered by federal EEO laws if it is based on one (or more) of the individual’s characteristics that are protected by these laws. In this document, the terms “harassment” and “harassing conduct” are generally used interchangeably. The terms refer to conduct that can, but does not necessarily always, constitute or contribute to unlawful harassment, including a hostile work environment.

The definition of genetic information also includes “any request for, or receipt of, genetic services, or participation in clinical research which includes genetic services, by [an] individual or any family member of such individual.” 42 U.S.C. § 2000ff(4)(B). Genetic information is further defined to include, “with respect to [] an individual or family member of an individual who is a pregnant woman, [the] genetic information of any fetus carried by such pregnant woman,” and “with respect to an individual or family member utilizing an assisted reproductive technology, [the] genetic information of any embryo legally held by the individual or family member.” 42 U.S.C. § 2000ff-8(b).

Sheriff’s Off., 743 F.3d 726, 754 (10th Cir. 2014) (noting that the employee’s response to harassment was not necessarily unreasonable even if “20/20 hindsight” suggests that she “could have avoided” some of the harm). Hall Co., 199 F.3d 925, 935 (7th Cir. 1999) (stating that the employee’s “unreasonable foot-dragging will result in at least a partial reduction of damages, and may completely foreclose liability”). 253 As discussed in section IV.A, supra, an employer also may be liable for harassment by a supervisor pursuant to negligence principles.

The major issues raised in the comments and the Commission’s responses are listed, summarized, and addressed below. An en banc Eleventh Circuit overruled its precedent that would automatically vacate a criminal sentence exceeding judicial guidelines if the district court imposed the sentence without an explanation, the court said Monday. 353 See Vance, 570 U.S. at ; Doe v. Oberweis Dairy, 456 F.3d 704, 717 (7th Cir. 2006).

Kramer, 743 F.3d at 749 n.16 (stating that the complainant’s private consensual sexual relationship with another county employee was unrelated to her claim of sexual harassment by the sergeant). 138 See, e.g., Blomker v. Jewell, 831 F.3d 1051, 1056 (8th Cir. 2016) (stating that unwelcomeness is one of the requirements in establishing a hostile work environment based on sex); Smith v. Rock-Tenn Servs., Inc., 813 F.3d 298, 307 (6th Cir. 2016) (same); Boyer-Liberto v. Fontainebleau Corp., 786 F.3d 264, 277 (4th Cir. 2015) (en banc) (stating that unwelcomeness is one of the requirements in establishing a hostile work environment based on race); Adams v. App’x 412, 416 (6th Cir. 2013) (per curiam) (holding that a reasonable jury could find that the plaintiff was subjected to race-based harassment where the plaintiff’s coworker called him “boy” and threatened his life).

145 See, e.g., Williams v. Herron, 687 F.3d 971, 975 (8th Cir. 2012) (concluding that the complainant adequately communicated to the harasser, with whom she had been having a sexual relationship, that his conduct was no longer welcome). 137 See, e.g., Johnson v. Advocate Health & Hosps. Corp., 892 F.3d 887, 904 (7th Cir. 2018) (holding that, because a reasonable jury could find that the conduct was unwelcome, there was an issue of material fact regarding subjective hostility); Kokinchak v. Among the design features familiar from classical BMW X models is the black surround at the lower edge of the body. On the BMW iX, this extends further up and forms a band around the entire car, from the front bumper along the sides into the rear.

The projection system in the BMW iX is designed so that the driver perceives the Head-Up Display graphics as being approximately ten feet in front of the vehicle. This projection distance allows information to be absorbed with the greater ease as it enables the driver to assimilate readouts accurately without having to adjust their gaze in normal driving situations. The Curved Display’s position and presentation are optimized to facilitate the intuitive use of the screen’s touch functionality. The door panel layout features a distinctive diagonal split using different colors and materials. The door pull-handles are sleekly integrated into the diagonal accent strip that houses the button for activating the electric door opening function. Buttons for adjusting the seat position are located on top of the front doors where they are ergonomically arranged in the form of a seat.

She not only tells of the importance of radical innovation but the need for responsible creativity. Ranging from forensic architecture to medicine, the design critic illustrates ground-breaking visions that have driven meaningful, positive change. Further to this, she speaks of the intersection of craftsmanship and technology, disagreeing that digital technology is replacing artisans. Instead the Design Critic lists how technology is rather empowering craft, from the innovative textiles used in the Neue Klasse car even to the multi-century restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral. The final design element, four round headlamps, is the most recent, more a product of evolution than conscious decision. As the 3 Series and 5 Series replaced their “New Class” predecessors, Munich used the number of headlights as a rank insignia indicating the position of models within the Series’ hierarchy.

Seen previously only on BMW coupés, this design feature underlines the sporting character of the BMW iX and brings a flowing appearance to the side of the vehicle as a whole. The high-gloss black trim for the B-pillars provides an attractive contrast against the body color. To showcase some of the unique products that emerge from the Designworks Studios, BMW exhibited the M Vision NEXT Concept, a futuristic and striking electric sports concept car. BMW Chief Designers joined a panel along with German sculptor and artist Thomas Demand to discuss their collaborations through artistic drawings. BMW recently marked its 50th anniversary by inviting us to its Designworks Studios in Los Angeles, California.

As both a design studio and creative think-tank, Designworks will tap into global trends while presenting innovative and sustainable design solutions across the automotive and tech industries. For the first time, the latest version of BMW’s Head-Up Display projector is flush fitted into the instrument panel without a frame, allowing it to be hidden from sight. The displays and controls are all stripped down to their essentials, reinforcing the impression of an uncluttered relaxing cabin. The BMW iX rides on standard 20-inch light-alloy wheels with an aerodynamically optimized design.

The New Functionalism 1961 – 1976: function dictates the form, accent on speed and technical perfection

This vehicle brings together classic details and the modern technology needed for a successful race. Its special paint job is reminiscent of classic race cars from the past five decades, blending together the past and present of motorsport history. Following its 50th anniversary, creative studio and BMW Group subsidiary Designworks opens a new workspace in Santa Monica, the ‘Silicon Beach’ of California. To help shape the future of mobility Designworks will take inspiration from this creative tech hub to provide services for both the BMW Group and other industries in the fields of mobility, transportation, consumer electronics, and charging infrastructure.

The signature BMW visuals – a distinctive BMW kidney grille and equally familiar twin headlights – have been newly interpreted with a futuristic style. Since the electric drive system of the BMW iX requires only a small amount of cooling air, the kidney grille is completely closed off. Camera technology, radar functions and other sensors are integrated seamlessly into the grille behind a transparent surface. The heating elements and cleaning system for the sensors are also embedded in the grille front. The new technology architecture making its debut in the BMW iX provides the platform for significant progress in the areas of digital services and future automated driving systems. For example, the level of computing power has been developed to process 20 times the data volume of previous models.

Reduced air resistance and intelligent lightweight design are both important contributory factors to the all-electric SAV’s range. The innovative design of the exterior mirrors on the BMW iX helps to reduce wind noise, optimizes aerodynamics and improves all-round visibility. The super-slim mirror bases attach to the lower edge of the side window surround, removing the need for the classic mirror triangle at the front of the side windows. The mirror caps are painted in body color and bordered at their lower edge by the mirror base in high-gloss black, creating an attractive color contrast. The turn indicators measure only around two millimeters in width and are integrated into the exterior mirrors behind glass covers. This particular study serves to point the way ahead for automotive design in the 21st century.

Overall, the clearly defined distribution of visual mass and the eye-catching tail end with the hallmark BMW surface treatment and design idiom endow the BMW Zagato Roadster with an athletic dynamism all of its own. Also feel free to take a look at the presentation of the new studio and the Vision M NEXT concept car with Adrian Van Hooydonk, BMW Group Head of Design. The success of the BMW Group has always been based on long-term thinking and responsible action. The company set the course for the future at an early stage and consistently makes sustainability and efficient resource management central to its strategic direction, from the supply chain through production to the end of the use phase of all products. ‘I actually don’t agree that digital technology is somehow crushing craftsmanship because actually, the reverse has happened. First of all, I think technology has really piqued our interest in completely different forms of activity and hand craftsmanship very much come into this.

All of the innovations showcased in this model centre around the variable nature of forms and functions, with the focus placed on the driver’s individual requirements arising from a given situation or the demands of the prevailing driving conditions. The GINA Light visionary model thus features a virtually seamless outer skin, consisting of a flexible fabric material stretched over a movable substructure. This brand new interpretation of familiar functional and structural concepts changes the way in which drivers experience their vehicle.

As well as the blue circle of the BMW logo on the hood and tailgate, these elements include blue accents in the outer areas of the bumper to emphasize the front end’s air ducting. A blue accent strip in the side skirts references the presence of the high-voltage battery positioned low down in the floor of the BMW iX. The hood of the BMW iX, with its pronounced three-dimensional sculpting, extends up to the headlights and BMW kidney grille. The hood does not have an opening mechanism for use by the customer; the drive systems and power electronics can only be accessed by workshop technicians. The batteries fitted in the BMW iX are designed as part of a long-term resource cycle and allow for a very high recycling rate. The power used to produce the battery cells and the high-voltage batteries comes exclusively from renewable sources.

The BMW Curved Display, making its production vehicle debut, is held in place by a supporting structure that is concealed from occupants’ view, so it appears to be freestanding. The high-definition display technology using anti-reflective glass also makes it possible to eliminate the normal binnacle used for shielding the readouts from sunlight, giving the cockpit area a remarkably tidy and airy appearance. Vast amounts of room, a top-quality selection of materials, newly developed seating and the extraordinary expanse of the single-piece panoramic glass roof combine to immerse all five seats inside the BMW iX in a luxurious lounge-style ambience. The all-new architecture of the BMW iX cabin underpins a straightforward functionality that revolves entirely around the needs and of the driver and fellow occupants. The eDrive concept means there is no center tunnel, adding to the open, airy feel while allowing extra front and rear legroom, sufficient space for storage and a center console crafted to look like a high-quality piece of furniture. Remarkably light yet extremely rigid Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic components in the body’s side, rear and roof areas form a key element of the safety concept for the BMW iX passenger cell.

Eight years later, the E36 3 Series gave traditionalists quite a shock with its completely new shape inside and out. In 1998, BMW unveiled the current E46 3 Series, a slightly larger and more sophisticated version of its predecessor. Even though they were not always top-of- the-line models compared to what was available in Europe, all 3 Series and 5 Series cars sent to the U.S. were equipped with four headlights. By the late 1980s, the four-headlamp look was the norm for most BMWs; however, cars with concealed lights—the M1 and the 8 Series—were notable exceptions. Some European models of the E28 5 Series had the tops of their round headlights shaved off, strictly as a design feature.

The MBTA and Keolis have an opportunity to start answering those questions and satisfying people in Worcester that take the commuter rail to Boston. Worcester to Boston travelers note that the commuter rail will only become more important as the state begins its Allston Multimodal Project in the next few years. The nearly $2 billion plan will involve replacing a section of the pike that’s currently elevated above Allston.

Sign up for the latest from GBH News delivered to your inbox three times a week. Our carpool duo arrived in Onica’s Subaru at a bustling South Station in just under an hour. The train had finished making the stops up to West Natick but was struggling to keep up. As the horn blared and the train rolled away through the darkness, Onica, who said yes to our carpool plan, began the drive to Boston in her Subaru Crosstrek. The race, albeit silly, was our way of witnessing firsthand the daily experience of workers who travel between Boston and Worcester. Although the cities are the two largest in New England and just about 47 miles apart, commuters say the trip in no way reflects their proximity.

Both trains made limited stops between Worcester and West Natick, keeping the entire trip each way to just one hour. As the sun rose, the commuter rail train steadily meandered through forests in between stops around MetroWest where more passengers boarded. Meanwhile, Onica — who likes to listen to news programming, J-pop and hits from the ’80s and ’90s — decided to stay on the pike, clearing the traffic after passing the accident. When you are staying next to a restaurant that always has a full parking lot, then you know it must be good. That was the case for Sam’s Chowder House in Half Moon Bay, which I visited on the last night I was in town, staying next door at Beach House – Half Moon Bay.

Although the project is supposed to increase transit connectivity and access to the Charles River, traffic is expected to worsen during construction. The Downtown Boston skyline gradually became more visible as Onica hit the 50-minute mark of her drive, passing the Boston Landing commuter rail station. Driving hasn’t always been Onica’s preferred method of traveling to Boston. In fact, when she decided to move from South Carolina to Massachusetts a few years ago, the commuter rail was a big reason why. Worcester was about halfway from her job in Boston and her husband’s in Amherst.

I was able to walk over from my hotel, so I didn’t utilize the parking, and after a short wait, I was shown to a table. After she boarded and found a seat at a table, she pulled out her laptop to check the news of the day. The lobster came on a sweet, buttery toasted slice of bread, which let the lobster shine without introducing too many other flavors.

This dish has ample portions of melt in your mouth ahi that has been marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onion. I was surprised by how much ahi they gave you as it could easily be shared with two people. I guarantee you won’t be leaving any behind, it is that good, and the ahi is that fresh. The chips are great as well, and I confirmed that they are baked in-house, which is why they tasted so good. Sam’s is located right on Pacific Coast Highway in the north part of Half Moon Bay. You can’t miss it while driving down the coast as it is the one with the large sign and packed parking lot.

It is different than a Boston lobster roll but good in its own, West Coast way. If oysters are on the menu at somewhere that I trust, then I have a hard time not ordering them. I already had a full meal ordered, so I just tried the two most popular kind, the Kumamoto and the Point Reyes oyster. I would say the Kumamoto is better as it has more flavor, but they are both good.

I was impressed by how much lobster I got with the sandwich; it was worth the price paid. I usually don’t like coleslaw, but I found myself eating it with the lobster pieces as it added a complementary flavor. I ate the roll slow to savor every bite of the lobster, and it is something I would come back to Half Moon Bay for.

Sam’s Chowder House restaurant in Half Moon Bay serves sustainable ocean fresh seafood, reminiscent of a New England style seafood house. NBC-TV’s The TODAY Show featured Sam’s famous Lobster Rolls, which were selected by the Food Editor as one of the five “Best Sandwiches in America”. This casual, family-friendly restaurant includes outdoor oceanfront dining with a pet-friendly patio.

She had read online that the commuter rail would be an easy way for her to travel to and from Boston. Her trip usually takes her about an hour, as long as she leaves Worcester by 6 a.m. If she doesn’t, she’ll end up stuck in gridlock traffic that can take more than two hours to move through.

But last fall, the MBTA and its commuter rail operator Keolis phased out the express service, adding more stops to meet demand around MetroWest. Suddenly, the roundtrip between Worcester and Boston took an extra hour. Onica said she had no choice but to start driving more often, which isn’t an ideal option either. We have extensive outdoor seating with cozy heat lamps, where you can enjoy the crisp, salty ocean air. Sam’s welcomes well-behaved pups on the back patio, on a first come, first served basis.

It was a busy Friday night with live music playing and everyone talking and having a great time. I sat down and quickly ordered the lobster roll, which The Today Show called one of the five best sandwiches in America. Here is all the info from that visit and my return to Sams in 2022. The MBTA and Keolis announced Thursday that this spring, they will bring back the Worcester express train to Boston in the morning. However, there will not be an express service back to Worcester in the afternoon. After finishing my meal I realized why Sam’s is packed all the time, everything from the food to the atmosphere is incredible and if I lived closer, it would be a spot I would come to often.

I can also confirm that it is still amazing and I enjoyed it just as much on my trip back in 2022. Check it out if you are driving PCH and let me know what you think in the comments. I just tried the New England; it was made in the traditional style with clam broth, creme, clams, potatoes, bacon, onion, and thyme. It was a delicious chowder; I appreciated that it was light on the cream as that makes it much easier to eat with a meal. There were good sized pieces of clams in the chowder as well, which was fantastic, and the bacon added a robust flavor to make it a solid chowder.

Travel Documents & Requirements

passport for bahamas cruise

Flying in (and back to the United States) will require a passport, no exceptions, while sailing into the country’s waters doesn’t require a passport—WHTI-compliant documents will suffice. It’s important to understand the information provided above is limited to either land or sea border crossings. This means that if you’re heading to the Bahamas by air, you’re going to need to bring your passport to reenter the U.S.

Travel Tip

Entry regulations for other foreign nationals vary, so researching beforehand is crucial to avoid complications. Many travelers have learned the hard way that a passport is required for medical, family, personal, or business emergencies. For this reason, we always recommend every traveler carry a valid passport anytime they leave the country. Legal permanent residents of the U.S. must have a valid passport from their country of citizenship and a valid Alien Registration Card (Green Card) to enter or re-enter the U.S. Regardless of where your flight is coming from and how long you're planning on staying, all international guests entering The Bahamas via air will need a valid passport.

Travel document requirements for sailings from Singapore

For information about obtaining a passport or passport card for the first time, or about renewing a passport or passport card, click here to visit the CIBT Web site. Passports are not required for U.S. citizens traveling to or returning directly from Hawaii or a U.S. territory, including Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Swains Island, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. If you're traveling on a 7-night cruise to The Bahamas from a northern port, such as New York, your itinerary will likely include a day in Port Canaveral, Florida. You can choose to book an excursion to visit one of Orlando's theme parks, relax on the nearby Cocoa Beach, take a tour of the Kennedy Space Station, or remain onboard.

Island Maps

Please note that your daughter may still be required to present a passport when you dock at a foreign port, depending on the islands or countries that your cruise ship is visiting. Citizens require a passport or other travel documents to enter the U.S., though there are some exceptions through the Visa Waiver Program. Port-of-call regulations can vary, so checking the specific requirements before you start your journey is crucial. While a passport may not be mandatory for a closed-loop cruise, we still highly recommend bringing yours with you on any international trip.

Many closed-loop cruises still make these stops at ports of call. Be sure to check with your cruise line ahead of your trip to ensure you have the appropriate documents. If you’re planning to fly to The Bahamas, you’ll need a valid U.S. passport book. This is a requirement for all air travel, domestic or international to both enter and exit The Bahamas. The passport book serves as proof of your identity and U.S. citizenship, which is essential for international travel.

There is no way to update a passport photo other than applying for a new passport. Since your son’s passport will expire this year, you may want to do this even though he will lose some of the remaining validity. It’s always best to check with your cruise line for specific document requirements. When traveling to any international destination, you need to be aware of local laws and proper etiquette to avoid unnecessary violations.

For non-U.S. citizens

For comprehensive instructions and to download the form, please view our instructions for How to Apply for a New Passport. So, before you book that flight, make sure your passport book is valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned entry date so that it is ready for your trip and your return home. All U.S. citizens and foreign nationals are required to show a valid US passport to enter the United States.

Of course, if you have a valid passport, you are welcome to use it on your cruise as well. Welcome to High Seas Cruising, your resource for exploring the exciting world of cruise ship travel. We provide expert advice, insightful reviews, and comprehensive guides to help seasoned and novice cruisers create their ideal sea journeys.

American travelers visiting the Bahamas can use a few different forms of photo identification — including enhanced driver's licenses, passport books, and passport cards — depending on their travel plans. The travel documents required for a trip to the Bahamas have less to do with where you're going and more to do with how you plan to get there and back into the U.S. There are different rules for air travel and cruises — so here’s what you need to know. Suppose your cruise itinerary involves departing from a U.S. port and includes stops in countries other than the Bahamas, such as the Caribbean or Mexico.

Safety in the Bahamas largely mirrors the precautions you would take anywhere else. As with any travel destination, it’s wise to safeguard your belongings and avoid secluded areas, especially after dark. Photocopies of required documentation are not acceptable in any circumstance. Regarding tourist visas, so long as your trip is less than 90 days, you will not have to worry about acquiring one. Here’s a summary of what official identification a U.S. citizen needs to fly to or cruise to/from the Bahamas.

When it comes to safety and security while traveling abroad, it is critical to stay up-to-date on current travel advisories issued by the U.S. As you plan, make sure your itinerary includes transportation to the cruise terminal and that you arrive well ahead of time for your departure. Carnival makes things easy with airport transportation, so you can just relax and enjoy the ride. In the event that you are forced to disembark early or accidentally miss your ship in port, having a passport will help you return to the United States quickly.

In addition to the expiration date being at least six months after your return home, you also need at least two available blank pages for stamps. Prior to your journey, it's crucial to familiarize yourself with our Bahamas entry requirements for a seamless travel experience. To ensure a smooth entry into the Bahamas by plane, a valid passport is mandatory for all visitors, and an immigration form and oral baggage declaration must be completed upon your arrival. Port, such as a port in Canada or Europe, and your cruise includes stops in the Bahamas, a passport is typically required for U.S. citizens. This is because you will need to enter the United States upon your return from the Bahamas, and a passport is the primary identification and proof of citizenship accepted by U.S. Citizen, a passport is typically required for entry into the Bahamas, regardless of your method of transportation.

Subaru cruise control light is flashing Possible causes

cruise control light flashing

Besides finding any leak, give the fuel gas cap a check whether it’s clogged. The dirt in the cap often prevents the flow of the fuel and shows the TC light. The vast majority of the time, if you see a light illuminated on your dashboard, it typically means that there’s an issue of some sort going on. Regular inspections of the switch can help identify any problems before they become dangerous.

Burned Ignition Coil

Some common faults that cause this light to stay illuminated include a blown fuse, faulty brake switch, or malfunctioning speed sensor. Apart from a faulty brake pedal switch, malfunctioning mechanical components can also be responsible for your Subaru’s cruise control light flashing. This includes a problem with the throttle control motor, the cruise control switch, the brake light switch, the cruise control actuator, and the ECU. If you notice the cruise control light flashing and check engine light is on, check the vehicle speed sensor. A bad speed sensor triggers the check engine light and disables the cruise control system.

Importance of checking the issue

We hope you’ve been acquainted with some valuable information and act sensibly next time it happens. Disabled traction control systems are not always the issue most Subaru owners face. Read the content thoroughly to get informed about it entirely. When you are on a slippery road in cold weather, and the light comes up, the system keeps the wheels in contact with the road. Surprisingly, the most common "failure" is the system being turned off. If the cruise control is not operating for you, check that you haven’t turned it off.

Summing Up Why Your Cruise Control Light is Blinking

The most common reason why the cruise control light is flashing on your Subaru is due to an electrical or mechanical problem. Remember, when the light is flashing, the cruise control system is disabled, so don’t try to turn it on because it won’t work. Like other system components, the cruise control does have issues. Most Subaru owners complain of Subaru cruise control light flashing on the dashboard as they drive. If the brake pedal switch has failed, it can also be the cause of the Subaru’s cruise control light flashing. The brake pedal switch is a safety feature that helps the cruise control system recognize when the brakes are being applied.

A brief explanation of the issue

Our main goal with this site is to provide you and the rest of our readers with exactly what they’re looking for. They may even be able to suggest a repair or adjustment that can resolve the issue. If that do not solve the problem, drive straight to your mechanic and have them diagnose and fix the problem.

Reasons Why Subaru Forester Check Engine Light Cruise Flashing Traction Control!

Whenever the Subrau cruise control light starts flashing on the dashboard, the cruise control has malfunctioned or disabled. If the light starts flashing after getting gas, locate a safe spot and pull over. If you’re driving and you see the cruise control light start blinking, the best thing to do is to disengage cruise control and drive without it until you can get your car into a mechanic. This could be for a number of reasons, such as a problem with the speed sensor or cruise control servo.

What Does it Mean if Your Cruise Control Light is Blinking?

The first thing you should do is check to see if your cruise control is working at all. Another potential cause of a flashing cruise control light is a blown fuse. The fuse that controls the cruise control system may have blown, preventing it from functioning properly. Checking and replacing the blown fuse can resolve this issue. In most cases, a flashing cruise control light on Subaru is accompanied by the engine warning light.

This could lead to you unintentionally speeding or, even worse, not being able to slow down in time if someone cuts you off or if there’s an obstacle in the road. After all, there are all sorts of lights on your dashboard, and seeing any one of them turn on unexpectedly can be a bit confusing. So knowing what certain ones look like will help you figure out what’s going on more quickly. Taking your car to the service center is the best way to get the right advice and a quality repair. Troubleshooting the issue requires an experienced mechanic to diagnose and repair. This way, you don’t have to waste your time perusing the web, comparing sources to one another, and trying to figure out what’s right and what’s wrong.

But if it gets on in the summer, then there’s a strong possibility your ignition coil is burned. The main buttons are set, coast, accelerate, cancel, on, and off, and some new cars have maximum and minimum speed buttons as well. It is important to check why your Subaru’s cruise control light is flashing in order to avoid any potential issues.

In this case, the cruise control system may be shorting out and the fuse must be replaced in order to fix the issue. If the switch is failing, it may not properly detect when the brake pedal is pressed, leading to a flashing cruise control light. If you own an older Subaru car, the cruise control light could be flashing due to a faulty mechanical component. In older models, the cruise control system has a cable, connecting the throttle to an air actuator, which regulates the cable to keep the vehicle at the set speed settings. Although the methods of implementation of cruise control have changed over the years, the overall idea is still the same. Choose a speed, and the engine will maintain that speed until you step on the brake.

However, if restarting doesn’t work, then there certainly are some other issues. Read the mentioned problem above, inspect your vehicle and follow the solution accordingly. Several systems come into play for cruise control to function.

If your Subaru’s cruise control light is flashing, it may be due to a malfunctioning speed sensor. This sensor is responsible for detecting the speed of the vehicle and relaying that information to the cruise control system. If the sensor is not working properly, it can cause the cruise control light to flash. A failing brake pedal switch can also be a culprit behind a flashing cruise control light.

The system is made up of the steering wheel controls, an input from a speed signal, an output to hold the speed steady, and an output to shut the system off. If you require any assistance in diagnosing cruise control issues, our certified technicians are always available to help identify any problems. It’s important to note that even if the light is on and cruise control is working, you might still have some issues with the system. It’s important to know where this light is so that if it does turn on while you’re driving, you’re not scrambling to figure out where it is and what it means. We’ll also discuss what to do if the light is on but not blinking, and whether or not you can safely drive your car in that state.

Pre-sailaway ceremonies offer the most flexibility.

We had the ceremony itself in the Cloud 9 card room on Deck 14 (which is now the suite lounge). There are five designs to choose from and you’ll get a fondant cake masterpiece. The flavor choices include carrot, chocolate, red velvet, and vanilla chiffon. The filling choices include raspberry, Dulce de Leche, cheesecake frosting, and lemon cream cheese. In addition to selecting an officiant and a ceremony spot, you can plan as simple or as extravagant a reception as you choose. Receptions range from simple cocktail hours to takeovers of whole dining venues, aka a restaurant buy-out.

If your ceremony will take place during the cruise, either a local notary public (for ports in the U.S.) or a nondenominational officiant (international ports) will preside over the ceremony, making the wedding legal. Reception packages for lunch or dinner service can be arranged at onboard dining venues like The Verandah, Todd English or Britannia, depending on the ship. There are additional possibilities for canapes and cocktail receptions, too. Holland America offers special wedding extras when at least eight staterooms are booked for an At Sea Symbolic or Anchors Away Harborside wedding through its Group Advantage Program. The bride and groom get a free stateroom upgrade for 16 guests. The entire group receives lunch at Pinnacle Grill (Holland America's upscale alternative restaurant), a private wine tasting and chocolate-covered strawberries, plus a bottle of in-room Champagne.

This company’s special emphasis on Royal Romance experiences means they are specially suited to handle your wedding needs. We took a transatlantic cruise on the Celebrity Silhouette ship back in 2013 for our ‘engagement cruise’. Our final port of call was Rome, and then we went on to Florence where we got engaged! The Celebrity Silhouette ship was simply amazing – the food was top notch, lots of amenities and deck space, and the crew were extremely well trained and service oriented.

You'll need to make decisions around where to get married (at sea or in port) and understand how those choices affect your guest list, risk of cancellation and the legality of the ceremony. Perhaps the biggest question is whether you want friends and family sailing with you on your honeymoon. Norwegian Cruise (NCL) weddings come in a vast array of options, which can turn basic packages into full-blown extravaganzas. Its ships also feature a wide range of specialty restaurants for easy romantic dining for two. NCL also offers legal same-sex ceremonies, available in destinations where same-sex marriages are recognized by local law. In addition to the above benefits, you'll score priority check-in and boarding for the couple and guests with the Tie the Knot Harborside package, which includes a service in port before embarkation.

Connect with a travel agency or browse through your options online to see if there are cruises offering shipboard wedding ceremonies. Sometimes, cruise lines will offer package deals where you can plan your honeymoon directly following the wedding ceremony. Wedding packages start around $2,100 for a ceremony without guests and go higher for up to 10 guests.

You can also arrange for a live band or a DJ at your reception. Since the Bahamas does not allow same sex marriages, those could not be done legally on the ship itself. You’ll get a personal wedding planner who can help you and guide you through the process. There’s also a wedding coordinator who will make sure everything goes as planned and you and your guests can have fun. If you get married on the embarkation day at a local port, you can bring your officiant and the rules will be the same as with any land-based venue.

In other words, don't play up Aruba or a specific ship — all your guests need to know early on is that it's a Caribbean sailing. Princess Cruises was the first cruise line to offer legal marriages at sea by the captain. "We're starting to see more weddings on the islands, whether their whole group is sailing with them or meeting them there," says Bernal.

Besides, when you tie the knot at the sea, you don’t have the pressure to complete the ceremony quickly, unlike on the embarkation day. They offer extras such as honeymoon treats for the new couple, throwing the welcome reception for your guests, and organizing small bachelorette and bachelor parties on board before the service. Celebrity is a great option for couples interested in specific routes which Celebrity services, as well as those looking to pull of a fabulous nautical wedding with plenty of help from an experienced wedding crew. Celebrity Cruises is another popular choice for couples looking to have their pre-packaged wedding brought to life with fun extras and a dramatic location. For example, many cruise ships have a small jail, called a brig. The brig is generally located on one of the bottom decks. Royal Caribbean allows for 75 of 150 wedding guests to be non-sailing.

But if your guests are joining the sailing, your romantic getaway may not be very private. If you want family and friends to attend your at-sea wedding, consider whether you can sneak away when needed without hurting anyone's feelings. For example, as of July, Royal Caribbean is fully sold-out for 2022 weddings and is not accepting bookings for additional nuptials this year. Bernal says one couple arranged a fireworks show off the coast of Puerto Rico and worked with Celebrity Cruises to stop the ship in the middle of the ocean for the best view.

For example, all three of Princess Cruises' wedding packages include either a legal ceremony by the captain or one performed by a local officiant in port. If you want to get married onboard and want to choose the clergy to perform the ceremony or invite people who won't be sailing, consider having your wedding onboard while the ship is still docked at its homeport. Clergy and guests can come aboard for the wedding and after-party, then debark before the ship sails, and you get the cruise as a honeymoon. For the most part, it's the big-ship, mass-market cruise lines that have embraced full-service weddings.

Celebrity’s clientele seems to be an older crowd with disposable income. This could be due to the fact that our cruise was a transatlantic, which would mean less kids or adults with vacation time. This can be considered a positive on both accounts if you are considering getting married on a Celebrity ship. Princess Cruise Lines are quite accustomed to performing weddings, and many of their top ships are equipped with the services and accommodations needed to pull off fantastic celebrations.
